Wedding Planning

It is the moment that many will consider to be the happiest of their lives.  For this reason a lot of work goes into the planning of your wedding because when the day comes you want everything to go perfectly and there are no second chances.
The first major thing to remember is that it is you and your partner who are getting married, therefore you both decide how to plan your wedding and how you want the day to run.  Yes take advice and help from family and friends but don’t forget that this is your day and no one elses.

One of the first things you must decide is the budget for your wedding.  It is not the nicest part of the day to think about but you must do so early on in your wedding planning.  The last thing that you want is for the costs of your wedding to spiral out of control and landing you in debt.  Being in debt is not the way to start your married life together so be sure to set a budget early on and stick to it.

The other factor to consider early on in your wedding planning is the date you wish to get married.  The obvious answer for most couples is in the summer months but please bear in mind that this is what most couples will be thinking.  So if you have your hearts set on a summer wedding be sure to book as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment.  Also remember that the price you pay will increase due to the summer period so try to balance your dates with the size of your budget.

There will also be other impacts to choosing to hold your wedding in the summer, the availability of wedding services such as the photographer and caterers will be affected.  No doubt the price will also be higher than in winter months because of the simple rule of supply and demand.

It will also be time to start thinking about planning your wedding reception, as with the venue for the ceremony, venues for your reception will also be booked very quickly.  The choice of venue here must not only fit in with your budget but also the needs of your guests.  Try to get a figure in mind of how many guests you wish to invite and select your venue accordingly.  If you find that all the venues are too expensive for your budget then you may need to consider cutting down the size of the guest list.
